Knackered Mind

A knackered mind can only do so little than usually. That’s why I haven’t posted for several days.

My creativity is destroyed; my imagination is limited to just what I have to know so I could pass college. My mind is weary.

Wish I could go back to the past, being kids again. Never have to worry about the future. You don’t have to worry about life, about death, about failure.

Kids, their minds are never knackered. 🙂

Spiking New Ideas

Brain Neural Lace
Wired news site said that Elon Musk — the one that founded PayPal, Tesla and SpaceX — has a radical idea that he wants to merge human brains with AI — he even launched a company just for that purpose. Honestly, I disapprove this idea and hope that someone powerful will spike this idea from becoming a reality. Continue reading

Opaque Dreams

Dreams Look Like - Pinterest.jpg

One of the opaque things in life is dreams. They say it has hidden meanings beyond what are seen but . . . I still don’t get it.

Back when I was able to lucid dream, it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I remember dreamed having a bicycle race where it was sunset and in the middle of the grass field like above — plus the asphalt where I and my opponents were competing and minus the flying balloons. Once I realized that I was dreaming, I went flying off the track and going towards the sun. No kidding.

Why would I dream such a thing? What are the meaning lie beyond it? What am I supposed to do next? Honestly, I don’t know. But I hope that I can lucid dream again. Someday.

Mind the Journey

Once I heard that theHappiness Quote by Andy Rooney process is more important than the results. I think that they’re equally important. Maybe — just maybe — we’re trained to put our standards so high we forget that each man has different journey occurring in his life. We’re trained not to mind the journey.

But the journey is important because that’s when and where we’re developing and maturing ourselves. With growth, comes happiness — and wisdom — because we’re able to see the world in a wider point of view.

I know that climbing the mountain is a hard journey, but usually it’s worth it. Usually.

Measure a Student’s Worth

Imagine Cup - Cimol Team

I don’t blame companies who prefer hire talented and students who already achieve so much in their academic. But, the problem is what will happen to those who never join any competitions or achieve anything worth noticing. Are they still worth something?

Apart from something quantified like GPA — and achievements and sorts — companies usually consider the projects they’ve done and their expertise to measure a student’s worth. If you’re an expert at lip service, there’s a high chance that you can convince them to hire you. But, are we worth something than that, or even less? Continue reading

A Champion of Others

Video Kampanye Ahok.PNG

Usually I do not go into politics. It’s full of treachery, deceit, and manipulation. But unfortunately, it’s the most significant thing that influences how our life will be for the next uncertain times.

I was educated by my high school teacher about the importance of college graduate. They were supposed to help its nation — in this case, Indonesia — rise and become a considerable competitor among other countries in context of technological and social advancements. Without become one — he said — we’re just wasting our time at college. Continue reading

Cusp between Motivated and Disinterested

Sort of Disintersted.jpg

I don’t want to blame anything or anyone. Apparently, blaming things won’t solve any problems. But what I feel right now. . . let’s say I’m on the cusp between motivated and disinterested.

Disinterested may be a common issue here. Some of my friends were motivated when they freshly entered my current college. Now, they may be disinterested in finding internship. In my opinion, it’s safe to assume that there’s something bad happened in the process. But I won’t talk about it here. Continue reading

I Wish I Could Do It Later

Student Loans
The most plausible solution to this problem is to. . . sleep — yeah, no s**t. But what if you’re not tired physically, but rather you’re exhausted because you have done too much work in a too little hours?

For me, I can restore my depleted energy by reading books. Currently, I’m reading a book named Supernormal Stimuli. It’s deep, but also opening my eyes about some truth to this capitalist world, how we stray off too far from our ancestors 10,000 years ago — that’s what the author said summarily. Continue reading

Symbiosis in Social Media

Social NetworksA process of trading mainly should be symbiotic, both to the sellers and buyers. It’s how things work: we buy things we want from sellers we trust to receive benefit we expect for as long as possible without having to buy newer things again. But things are a little more complicated when we’re talking about social media.

We use social media because we gain several benefits — perks, if you will — from using them. We can share our opinions, our current life, even our personal and private aspects of our lives in real-time across the world, surpassing any boundaries and distance without any charge or fees for the rest of our lives — well, almost all.  Continue reading

Meaningless Toil

Live

Toil is a long hard labor. And this worldly life is only a big toil towards our eternal life, as stated in my religion. And to be able to inhabit Heaven, we have to make our life meaningful — sorry if I’m preaching to the choir.

But one of the things I hate in this life is that it can take only one particular action to render a toil meaningless. For instance, failing to formulate a comprehensive bachelor’s thesis means you’re wasting your 4 years of life at college. Or when someone’s so consumed at work, maybe one failure or depression can lead to suicide, which literally leaving everything you’ve worked so hard for meaningless.

I’m trying not to sound complaining. It’s just that how can only one action can determine someone’s destiny. They say that good intention and hard work lead to culmination of a beautiful results. But I think that sometime, one’s toil can be destroyed with only just one small event. And that is terrifying.
