I had posted about supernormal stimuli several weeks ago. And I think that social media is one of them. The joy of living a lifestyle albeit not earning it is. . . great. And in this post, I’m talking about one of the most famous social media on Earth: Instagram.

An Avid Gamer

I used to dream to make my former hobby (i.e gaming) as my long-life job. You know, the kind who dedicated their lives to bring the best performance in the MMO game championship, like this team. Unfortunately, I’m no longer an avid gamer myself because of certain reasons.

Then, I moved on and temporarily become an avid reader. I bought several famous novel book from Sidney Sheldon — like Master of The Game and Mistress of The Game. And then I realized that my budget wouldn’t support my hobby as a reader, so I ceased.

Spiking New Ideas

Wired news site said that Elon Musk — the one that founded PayPal, Tesla and SpaceX — has a radical idea that he wants to merge human brains with AI — he even launched a company just for that purpose. Honestly, I disapprove this idea and hope that someone powerful will spike this idea from becoming a reality.

Pleased with PC Technology

I’m so pleased with the technology advances. It facilitates me in how I search for new and reliable information, do assignments, even just devour internet randomly. But mostly, I’m fascinated by one specific technology: computer.

It is a multipurpose gadget, seemingly timeless technology even though it has gone through many cycles of evolution. I can use if for gaming purpose, work, even entertainment. Although sometimes it comes at a ludicrous price, it’s worth the money.

 

Unraveled Society

A society that does not learn history is a society starting to unravel (inspired from here). Although there’s a quote quotes Napoleon saying, but I believe there’s still truth to history.

Supernormal Stimuli book said that human species were created to learn, to adapt to changes around them so they could survive. . . and create history. It’s the only way to keep the society from disintegrating and unraveling; we need to keep moving.

Not a Prudent Purchase

Suddenly, I was left with much vacant hours. I didn’t know what to do, so it would be prudent if I just. . . play games?

I thought that after too much times was used to work as a college student, I needed some leisure times. Knowing how to enjoy life and spend your time is vital to your success, I think. Because for me, if I got bored I’ll end up buying things I shouldn’t have.

Fortune is often associated with a huge amount of money or wealth. When I was rather innocent, I had a dream to use my fortune to help people. Sounds cliché but what did I know? Most people would rather spend them on luxury items such as fast cars, beautiful mansions, and sophisticated technology.

But this is April Fool’s day I’m talking about. And some of the biggest companies in the world are spending their fortunes to prank people — I only know who make the pranks — in an intelligent way. I envy them; it turns out that you can spend your fortunes in a fancy way that can make people laugh and entertained. Or maybe get their intelligence insulted, who knows.

MILC – MILC is Liquid Conditioner

Setelah beberapa saat memutuskan menggunakan solusi yang bernama Tetanen — ada di bagian paling bawah — kami memutuskan untuk mencari ide lain. Hal tersebut dikarenakan ide Tetanen tidak sepenuhnya berasal dari masalah yang ada, namun lebih kepada sebuah inovasi baru. Ide ini pun baru kami peroleh minggu lalu setelah mencoba melihat ide-ide pada Blynk namun tidak ada satu pun proyek dari situs tersebut yang diperoleh. Ternyata, terdapat suatu hal yang mungkin belum pernah tersentuh IoT sama sekali.

Proyek ini akan diimplementasikan menggunakan Arduino dan dikombinasikan dengan WiFi Module. Secara singkat, ide kami bertajuk “IoT Dispenser”. Saya tahu, mungkin ide ini terdengar aneh, tetapi saya akan coba jelaskan.

Latar Belakang

Setelah sekian lama, belum terdapat inovasi yang sangat berbeda dari dispenser yang sering kita gunakan sehari-hari. Ya, mungkin harganya semakin terjangkau tetapi dengan pernah maraknya IoT dan berbagai topik IoT yang diambil — seperti Smart City, Smart Car, dan lainnya — yang cukup besar dan terdengar luar biasa, cukup mengherankan bahwa belum munculnya ide IoT yang membahas mengenai perangkat rumah tangga, seperti kompor gas, kulkas, dan lain sebagainya. Ironinya, hal tersebut lebih dibutuhkan oleh rakyat menengah ke bawah daripada hal-hal yang terkesan mengawang-awang seperti Smart City, namun implementasi IoT perangkat rumah tangga secara khusus belum juga ada.

Pada kehidupan sehari-hari, penggunaan perangkat rumah tangga yang terkoneksi — terintegrasi pada sistem Smart Home — pada akhirnya diperlukan juga oleh orang banyak. Kami mencoba mewujudkan IoT dispenser karena sebagian orang memerlukan panas pada suhu tertentu yang dihasilkan oleh dispenser. Setelah dipikir-pikir, dispenser juga dapat diberikan fungsi lainnya, yaitu membuat minuman khusus seperti kopi dan susu.

Deskripsi Sistem

Komponen utamanya ialah Arduino dan WiFi Module, tetapi sampai hari Rabu tanggal 29 Maret 2017, komponen lainnya sebagai penangkap data dan aktuator belum benar-benar ditentukan.

Intinya, sistem dapat membaca suhu air panas pada dispenser dan menentukan suhu berdasarkan keinginan pengguna. Sistem dispenser ini juga dapat mengeluarkan air pada jumlah yang presisi tergantung perintah dari pengguna yang dimasukkan pada smartphone mereka.

Untuk fitur membuat minuman lain, tentunya diperlukan penampung khusus yang dalam hal ini merupakan penampung bubuk kopi atau susu, kemudian dipasang pengaduk khusus pada dispenser. Penuangan bubuk tersebut juga berdasarkan takaran yang diinginkan oleh pengguna.

Symbiosis in Social Media

A process of trading mainly should be symbiotic, both to the sellers and buyers. It’s how things work: we buy things we want from sellers we trust to receive benefit we expect for as long as possible without having to buy newer things again. But things are a little more complicated when we’re talking about social media.

We use social media because we gain several benefits — perks, if you will — from using them. We can share our opinions, our current life, even our personal and private aspects of our lives in real-time across the world, surpassing any boundaries and distance without any charge or fees for the rest of our lives — well, almost all. 

Controversy over New Public Riding Policy

I want to keep this short and sweet, so I’ll just elaborate the new public riding controversy in Indonesia.

Some of our public ride drivers — we call it Angkot — held several protests towards our government demanding justice be delivered toward the so-called sharing economy companies, like Uber and Grab as depicted from the picture above.

I didn’t follow the news frequently, but from what I gathered, those protesters wanted those companies to have a system like they do — I’ll explain below.

And guess what, they got it. And more.
