Not a Prudent Purchase

Tyranny.png

Suddenly, I was left with much vacant hours. I didn’t know what to do, so it would be prudent if I just. . . play games?

I thought that after too much times was used to work as a college student, I needed some leisure times. Knowing how to enjoy life and spend your time is vital to your success, I think. Because for me, if I got bored I’ll end up buying things I shouldn’t have. Continue reading

Pause for A While

Blue MountainI wish I could pause for a while. To take a look at a scenery, to relax, or to think. Or maybe when you’re talking to someone, pausing can help him digest what you’re talking about. It’s important, but some people are talking too fast and too much.

Looking at the picture above, I suddenly remember that I have a long desire to study digital picture manipulation — at least the basic. It allows me to manipulate any pictures exactly as I want it. And to study new knowledge outside my major, I surely need to pause my daily routine. I obviously can’t learn new things without unlearning something, right? Continue reading

I Wish I Could Do It Later

Student Loans
The most plausible solution to this problem is to. . . sleep — yeah, no s**t. But what if you’re not tired physically, but rather you’re exhausted because you have done too much work in a too little hours?

For me, I can restore my depleted energy by reading books. Currently, I’m reading a book named Supernormal Stimuli. It’s deep, but also opening my eyes about some truth to this capitalist world, how we stray off too far from our ancestors 10,000 years ago — that’s what the author said summarily. Continue reading

A Passport to Peace

Honesty is Icy 1

You can always be successful by using your skills and knowledge, not to mention hard work and dedication. But what my sister always reminded me of was that no matter what you do, you have to be honest.

When you’re honest, you don’t have to remember anything bad that you did in the past. You don’t have to hide it for so long you’ll feel agony. At first, of course it may hurt so much— mostly because people consider your deed as a bad thing and react with hostility — but after you get through it, you will feel you’ve released a ton of pressure off your back. A Fortune Well Spent (April Fool’s Day)

Fortune is often associated with a huge amount of money or wealth. When I was rather innocent, I had a dream to use my fortune to help people. Sounds cliché but what did I know? Most people would rather spend them on luxury items such as fast cars, beautiful mansions, and sophisticated technology.

But this is April Fool’s day I’m talking about. And some of the biggest companies in the world are spending their fortunes to prank people — I only know who make the pranks — in an intelligent way. I envy them; it turns out that you can spend your fortunes in a fancy way that can make people laugh and entertained. Or maybe get their intelligence insulted, who knows.

Unexplored Territory

Orchard Road Sidewalk
When I first went to Singapore with my friends on a study tour, I was fascinated. Singapore is indeed small, but it is beautiful. And more importantly, the city was so. . . clean.

This unexplored territory opened up my eyes. My small mind suddenly expanded to new reality and possibilities. People there were really trying their best to obey orders. For instance, I was shocked when people were willing to wait for 90 seconds to cross the street albeit no vehicles were on sight. NONE. Continue reading

The Elixirs of Afterlife

Sadaqah Jaariyah
I think of elixir as a liquid, a drink to extend our life. If you have played The Sims 3, I’m sure you’ll be familiar. In the game, the Elixir of Life resets your age to the beginning of the life phase, like young adult. Unfortunately, if you’re doing this repeatedly you might get bored. But not in this life.

Sharing is caring. And by sharing, you will make people happier, and eventually you become happier too. Maybe become more peaceful. In Islam, you can give particular ongoing charity —we call it Sadaqah Jariyah — and reap rewards and blessing both in this worldly life and Hereafter.

The Color of Purple

Screenshot
Purple. As they say, it’s a color of luxury, sensuality, and passion. But sometimes can also picture gloominess and sadness. It depends on the context and the specific kind of purple you’re referring to.

Well, in this case I think it suits the former: luxury, extravagance, and wealth. The imagination of being someone who has all the things desired is so. . . intense when I see this kind of purple. It’s like a dream that mostly will never come true; when you want something, you have all the capabilities in the world to achieve or acquire it.

MILC – MILC is Liquid Conditioner

water-dispenser.png

Symbiosis in Social Media

Social NetworksA process of trading mainly should be symbiotic, both to the sellers and buyers. It’s how things work: we buy things we want from sellers we trust to receive benefit we expect for as long as possible without having to buy newer things again. But things are a little more complicated when we’re talking about social media.

We use social media because we gain several benefits — perks, if you will — from using them. We can share our opinions, our current life, even our personal and private aspects of our lives in real-time across the world, surpassing any boundaries and distance without any charge or fees for the rest of our lives — well, almost all.  Continue reading
